THE BRONX
* The bystander fatally shot while sitting in a wheelchair in Williamsbridge on Saturday was not disabled, cops said yesterday.
The violence began at 10:30 p.m., when two men got into an argument while Wayne Johnson, 37, was sitting in a wheelchair nearby on East 214th St. near Laconia Avenue in Williams Bridge.
The gunman opened fire, and Johnson was hit in the back by a stray bullet. Johnson was taken to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, where he died.
The gunman fled. Police do not know the motive.
MANHATTAN
* Two young men were stabbed by an assailant yesterday during an argument on a lower Manhattan street, police said.
The victims, ages 17 and 20, clashed with their attacker at the corner of Vesey and West streets at 12:30 a.m. after they had left a party at an Embassy Suites Hotel.
The 17-year-old was stabbed in the torso, while the 20-year-old was stabbed in the back.
Both were taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital and listed in stable condition.
The suspect, whose motive was not known, fled.
* A father of three was shot dead and another man wounded yesterday when a thug accosted them outside an Inwood apartment building, police said.
Javier Sanchez, 30, and the other man were sitting outside the building on Ellwood and West 196th streets at 1:50 a.m. when an unidentified man approached them and pulled out a gun.
The gunman then opened fire, hitting Sanchez in the head and grazing the other victim in the head.
Sanchez was taken to Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, where he died.
The other victim, 31, did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
“I was lying down in bed when I heard three shots, ‘Bang! Bang! Bang!’ ” said neighbor Francisco Jordan, 32.
“Then there was a short silence, and then I heard people screaming and yelling and breaking bottles.”
“I was talking to [Sanchez] earlier, and now a few hours later, he’s gone. It’s just incredible. It’s just a shame,” Jordan said.
Sanchez, a carpet layer with a wife and three daughters, “was a good man,” said Lewis Ribot, the building super.
When Ribot learned of Sanchez’s death this morning, he said, “No, no, it can’t be.”
“He was a good guy,” said Ribot, 54. “He was a hard-working man.”
* An unidentified man died yesterday when he was struck by a subway train in a Harlem station, transit officials said.
The man was on the tracks in West 145th Street Station at St. Nicholas Avenue at around 5 p.m. when he was hit by a southbound C train.
EMS workers arrived and realized the man still had a pulse, but he died while being rushed to Harlem Hospital.
It was not immediately clear if he had jumped, fell or was pushed. (s, lcf)
QUEENS
* An unidentified man was shot and critically wounded yesterday on a Richmond Hill Street, police said.
The man was shot four times at 102nd Avenue and 134th Street at 1:30 a.m., when a gunman approached and opened fire for unknown reasons.
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital. The assailant fled.
BROOKLYN
* An assailant shot and killed a man on a Canarsie street before fleeing, cops said yesterday.
Police do not know what sparked the 11 p.m. attack on Saturday, but said 20-year-old Jeremiah Jordan was shot in the chest at East 94th Street near Avenue L.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he had no ID.
* A 30-year-old man was slashed on the arm during a robbery yesterday on a Sheepshead Bay street, police said.
The unidentified victim said he was approached by an unidentified man who cut him with a broken bottle and stole his wallet at Sheepshead Bay Road and Emmons Avenue at around 5 p.m.
The wounded man was seriously injured.
