* A clerical worker for the city’s Department of Probation was busted yesterday for attacking a colleague over a piece of cheesecake in Downtown Brooklyn, police sources said.

Melanie Blount, 46, was having lunch with a co-worker at a TGI Friday’s restaurant when the two started bickering over a slice of cake.

The squabbling quickly boiled over into violence when Blount slammed the cheesecake over the 43-year-old colleague’s head, then charged at her with a glass, according to the sources.

Blount allegedly smashed the glass over the woman’s head, causing a cut on her head and a laceration on her right shoulder.

She was treated for her injuries and released at a nearby hospital.

Cops arrested Blount at her office just after 3 p.m. She was charged with assault. (lcf)

* A man was shot to death on a Fort Greene street yesterday, cops said.

Kenyon Richardson, 29, who lived on Nostrand Avenue was standing outside a Fleet Walk building when an unknown gunman approached and opened fire, police said.

The victim – who law-enforcement sources said has an arrest record – was shot twice in the head. (lcf)

* A man has been arrested in Canarsie for beating his ex-girlfriend and damaging her property, authorities said yesterday.

Nelson Perez, 27, got angry when he overheard his 35-year-old ex-girlfriend talking to another man on the phone in her East 108th Street apartment at 10 p.m. on Sunday, sources said.

Perez allegedly smashed her stereo, grabbed and shook her, and fled.

On Tuesday, the woman was heading to work when Perez confronted her outside her building at 6:20 a.m. and demanded cash, police sources said.

When the woman rebuffed him, Perez tossed her to the ground, smashed her cellphone and hurled a bottle through her window, police sources said.

Cops were called and Perez was arrested on charges of assault, menacing and criminal mischief.

The victim was not injured.

* A Brighton Beach man has been arrested for violating an order of protection after a woman caught him committing a lewd act at her window, authorities said yesterday.

On Saturday at 5:30 a.m., the 38-year-old victim heard a noise outside a window of her home on Brighton 3rd Street, police sources said.

She looked out and saw Gary Ausley, 21, pressing his face against the glass and masturbating, sources said.

The woman – who sources say received a court order of protection against Ausley after he repeatedly tried to break into her home – quickly closed the blinds and called police.

Ausley fled, but police arrested him on Tuesday on charges of criminal contempt and public lewdness.

* An East Flatbush man and his stepson have been arrested for attacking each other in the apartment they shared, authorities said yesterday.

Bernardo Brown, 63, woke up his 21-year-old stepson, Darnell Lander, who had been sleeping on the couch in their home on Rockaway Parkway near Winthrop Street at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, sources said.

That sparked a fistfight in which Lander allegedly socked Brown in the face.

Brown went into the kitchen to retrieve a knife and slashed Lander twice on the back, authorities said.

Police were summoned and arrested both men on assault and menacing charges.

QUEENS

* Police yesterday asked the public for help in finding a thug in connection with the death of a College Point woman during a robbery.

Usha Taneja, 56, was found lying on the ground outside the building in which she lives at 20-25 120th Street at 9:30 a.m. last Friday after she suffered a head injury.

It was not immediately clear how she was injured.

A witness saw a man dash from the crime scene and get into a commercial van that sped away.

The van had red and black lettering on it. The suspect – described as a 6-foot Hispanic man between 25 and 30 years old, had robbed the woman, but it was unclear what he had stolen, police said.

The victim was taken to New York Hospital of Queens, where she died on Tuesday.

THE BRONX

* Police yesterday identified a man shot dead on a Kingsbridge street.

Shawn Bethea, 22, was shot in the chest by an assailant who approached him and opened fire on Kingsbridge Terrace near Heath Avenue around 7 p.m. Monday, cops said.

The shooter, whose motive was not known, fled.

MANHATTAN

* Gunfire on a Harlem street last night left two men wounded – one critically.

The victims, whose names were withheld, were in front of a West 124th Street building when bullets started flying at 10 p.m. It was unclear what sparked the gunplay.

One of the men, who is in his 20s, was clinging to life after being shot in the head.

The other man suffered a graze wound to his head.

Both were taken to Harlem Hospital. (lcf)

* A note-passing thief made off with $2,500 in cash from an East Harlem bank, police said yesterday.

The unidentified man, in his 30s, walked into the Fleet branch on 125th Street near Lexington Avenue around noon on Monday.

After slipping a demand-note to a teller, he fled with the loot.
