* The teen who turned himself in after being sought as a suspect in a stray-bullet shooting that took the life of a young mother was arrested last night. Kenneth Albritton, 18, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Maisha Hubbard, 28, who was watching the Giants-Eagles football game in her apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Saturday when the bullet came crashing through her window. * The medical examiner has ruled the death of a 7-month old boy a homicide. On Tuesday, Kyreese Foster died of child-abuse syndrome – indicated by injuries in various stages of healing, the medical examiner said. Foster was discovered unconscious by his father in their home on Park Place near Brooklyn Avenue in Crown Heights. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police are investigating.
* A knife-wielding assailant was arrested yesterday in the stabbing death of a man in Bushwick, police said. Shawn Mashack, 22, was charged with murder in the attack, which took place Tuesday at 1 a.m. on Hancock Street near Irving Avenue. He allegedly got into a dispute with Charles Taylor, 35, and stabbed him in the chest. Taylor was taken to Wyckoff Heights Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
* A robber made off with approximately $2,927 from a Williamsburg bank yesterday after he passed a teller a note demanding money. The robbery occurred about 10 a.m. at the Washington Mutual branch at the corner of Grand Street and Graham Avenue.
THE BRONX
* An off-duty cop’s gun was stolen yesterday during an attempted payroll heist in Riverdale. The robbery bid occurred at a payroll company on Fairfield Avenue around 2 p.m. Three men got out of a dark-colored car, brandished a gun and demanded the payroll funds from three off-duty NYPD officers moonlighting as guards for the payroll company. Two of the officers struggled with the robbers and one of them lost his gun to the thugs. The third officer exchanged gunfire with the thieves, who fled. The three cops were treated at an area hospital.
* Police yesterday were still trying to identify a man they say was seriously injured during an apparent assault in Tremont. On Tuesday, cops discovered the 30-year-old man lying on the ground on Bathgate Avenue. He suffered blunt-trauma injuries to the head and was taken to an area hospital.
MANHATTAN
* A thief walked into an Upper West Side bank yesterday, slipped a note demanding money to a teller and escaped with an undetermined amount of cash. The robbery occurred about 9:30 a.m. at the Commerce Bank branch on Broadway near 97th Street.
* A thief escaped with $3,797 from an Upper East Side bank after he slipped a note to a teller demanding money. The robbery occurred at about 3 p.m. at the Chase Bank branch on 86th Street near Second Avenue.
QUEENS
* 0A 3-month-old boy died after he was found unconscious in his family’s Springfield Gardens apartment, police said yesterday. Shamar Thomas was discovered unconscious Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in the apartment on Edgewood Avenue. He was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said the boy’s body bore no visible signs of trauma.
* A man remained in critical condition yesterday after he was beaten over the head in Astoria, police said. On Wednesday, Charles Paulino, 25, and four friends got into a dispute with several men inside the White Castle fast-food outlet at 31st Drive and 21st Street around 5:30 a.m. The argument escalated into a physical altercation. The assailants allegedly assaulted Paulino and his friends before fleeing. Paulino, unconscious and bleeding, was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital.
* A man’s condition has stabilized after he was shot and critically injured on Tuesday in St. Albans. The violence erupted at the corner of 183rd Place and Henderson Avenue around 12:30 a.m. when an unidentified man shot the 31-year-old victim in the neck for reasons that remain unclear, cops said. The gunman fled. The victim, whose name was withheld, was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital.
STATEN ISLAND
* Cops rescued a man from the Upper Bay after he fell over the side of the Staten Island Ferry. The incident occurred Wednesday at 11 p.m. as a Manhattan-bound ferry was pulling away from the St. George Terminal. It was not immediately clear what caused the 45-year-old man to fall. Passengers alerted 120th Precinct cops assigned to the boat. Three officers stopped the ferry and pulled the man back on board. The man, whose name was withheld, was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital of Staten Island in stable condition.
