BROOKLYN
* Two men were arrested for beating two others in a dispute on a Mill Basin street, authorities said yesterday.
Police sources said Joseph Favuzza, 20, and Raimando Baid, 53, were urinating on the street at Avenue U and Mill Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Sunday when two passersby, ages 20 and 22, apparently took exception and got into a heated argument. The dispute escalated into violence when the assailants took bottles and repeatedly smashed the victims around the face and head, sources said.
Police were called and the suspects were quickly arrested on assault, menacing and weapons charges.
Favuzza was also charged with resisting arrest after a brief struggle with cops. The victims were released after treatment for minor injuries at local hospitals.
* A 19-year-old man has been arrested for beating another man after harassing the victim’s wife in Bensonhurst,
authorities said yesterday.
The suspect, Alberto Rodriguez, was outside a Starbucks at 65th Street and 18th Avenue at 3:20 p.m. Saturday
when he made a lewd gesture through the storefront window at the man and his wife sitting inside, sources said.
The husband, 29, went outside to confront Rodriguez, who allegedly struck him in the face and eye before fleeing.
The victim called 911 and followed Rodriguez to a construction site. There, Rodriguez allegedly picked up a two-by-four and swung it at his pursuer’s head.
The victim blocked the blow with his arm. Rodriguez fled, but was caught the next day and charged with assault,
menacing and criminal mischief. The victim was not seriously hurt.
* A couple were arrested after attacking each other during an argument in their Bensonhurst apartment, authorities
said yesterday.
John Cianci, 54, clashed with his girlfriend, Joann Gentilyomo, 43, in their 23rd Avenue apartment at 5 p.m. Sunday after Cianci, already intoxicated, began to leave for a visit to a local bar, cops said.
Cianci told cops Gentilyomo hit him in the head with a frying pan. Gentilyomo told police Cianci struck her in the
chest and pinched her arms.
Police arrested both suspects on assault, menacing and harassment charges.
THE BRONX
* Police yesterday identified the 40-year-old woman who died mysteriously in her Highbridge apartment.
The nude body of Antoinette Lakin was discovered in her home on Martin Luther King Junior Blvd. near Boscobel
Avenue about 12:30 p.m. Monday. Police said the body showed no apparent signs of trauma.
MANHATTAN
* A 38-year-old man was beaten, kicked and hit with pepper spray by two thugs in Chelsea in an apparent bias incident, cops said yesterday.
The victim was confronted by an unidentified man and woman in their 20s at West 24th Street east of Ninth Avenue just after midnight Monday.
The assailants hit the victim in the back of the head with a blunt object and splattered his face with pepper spray.
The pair then kicked the victim in the legs and yelled anti-gay slurs before fleeing.
The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.
QUEENS
* Two roommates were arrested yesterday in connection with a barroom brawl in Corona that left a man dead of stab wounds and two others wounded, police said.
Regino Dominguez, 23, and Carrillo Sergio, 19, were charged with murder early yesterday in the death of Patricio
Guaman, 21, and the stabbings of two other men, ages 22 and 23, in El Rodeo on 40th Road at 1:48 a.m. Sunday, cops said. Police said the group had been arguing over a woman when the violence erupted.
Guaman died of chest wounds at Elmhurst Hospital. The other victims were listed in critical condition.
