A Manhattan judge dismissed perjury charges against a 16-year NYPD veteran accused of lying to a grand jury about a Manhattan drug bust in 2009.

Detective Said Salim was charged with falsely testifying that he saw two men drop a bag of dope on the ground. He said they later denied the bag was theirs.

Prosecutors allege that the detective lied about the circumstances of the arrest because he stopped the men without probable cause. They argued that a surveillance video corroborated this.

But Justice Jill Konviser wrote there was no evidence the cop deliberately gave false information.
