Police are investigating the death of a newborn baby boy who was found unresponsive in his Bronx home, authorities said Thursday.

One-month-old Kaseem Watkins was discovered unconscious by cops inside the apartment on Holland Avenue near East 215th Street in Williamsbridge at around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday after the infant’s parents called 911, police said.

Sources say Kaseem’s father, Teshawn Watkins, told police he found the child unresponsive in his bassinet.

Medics rushed the boy to Montefiore Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

It was not immediately clear what led to the child’s death.

The dad was being questioned by investigators, sources said.

According to sources, the family has a history with the city’s Administration for Children’s Services.

Two sons, now ages 3 and 4, were temporarily taken away from the family by ACS when they were just months-old, but the agency gave the boy’s back to the family, according to sources.

At the time the sons were removed from the home, one of them had a broken tibia, bite marks and bruises on his face, sources said.

“There appears to be some evidence that the father has been physical with the children,” said a source who added that investigators are “looking to see if there is any bruising” on Kaseem.

ACS would not confirm whether or not it had previous dealings with the family, but a spokeswoman said that ACS is investigating the death of Kaseem with the NYPD.

“Our top priority is protecting the safety and wellbeing of all children in New York City,” ACS spokeswoman Chanel Caraway said.
