Police have identified a man wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Brandon Hendricks.
The NYPD released a photo late Friday of Najhim Luke, 22, and asked for the public’s help in finding him.
Hendricks was gunned down June 28 in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx, a week after his graduation from James Monroe High School, where he was a standout basketball player and “inquisitive and intelligent” student.
Hendricks’ death has become a flashpoint in the gun violence scourge that has rocked the city the past month amid a shakeup in the NYPD, anti-police brutality protests and mass release of parolees and no-bail suspects.
Hendricks’ mother decried the shooting surge in an interview with The Post Tuesday — and said she’ll never be able to forgive his killer.
“This person that takes my son’s life, I have no forgiveness for that person,” said Eve Hendricks, 49. “I’ll never, ever forgive that person as long as I live because that person took away my world. That person shattered my heart.”
Luke is described as about 140 pounds and 6 feet tall.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
