An NYPD officer rushing to a crime scene struck and killed a motorcyclist in Brooklyn Saturday night, according to police.

The officer, driving a marked SUV, was headed westbound on Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg with “emergency lights and sirens activated” when the vehicle collided with the motorcyclist, who was headed south on Driggs Avenue, the NYPD said.

The 37-year-old male victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the officer was responding to a 911 call of a person shot three blocks away at Metropolitan Avenue and Wythe Avenue.

No arrests or charges have been made in the fatal incident.
