An NYPD officer trying to help control a crowd lighting off fireworks in Crown Heights early Friday was injured when a liquor bottle was thrown at his head, police said.

Cops were responding to a group of people lighting off the pyrotechnics on Nostrand Avenue near St. John’s Place in the wee hours when someone lobbed the bottle at the cops, authorities said.

The object hit the policeman in the head, and he was taken to an area hospital, officials said. He was treated and released soon after.

Police later busted Jose Hurtado, 30, and Cain Tracey, 18, in connection with the attack. The pair was charged with assault on a police officer, obstruction and disorderly conduct.

It was not immediately clear which man had thrown the bottle.
