An NYPD officer suffered a head injury when he was clipped by a train while responding to a call for an assault in an Upper East Side subway station, police said Saturday.
Cops received a call for an assault inside the 86th Street station near Lexington Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. Friday.
They were searching the southbound No. 6 train platform when the officer was partially struck by an oncoming train, suffering a cut to his head, authorities said.
He was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical, where he was treated and released, cops said.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was arrested for the reported assault.
