It wasn’t your typical NYPD custody case.

New York’s Finest were called into action Wednesday to rescue a wayward opossum that somehow found his way into the middle of the urban jungle.

Cops found the critter after responding to a call of an animal in front of 371 W. 54th St. in Hell’s Kitchen shortly before noon, police said.

The mischievous marsupial had climbed onto a concrete ledge outside the first floor of the building, forcing cops to deploy a ladder to catch the rat-like animal.

The opossum was later released into the wild — of Central Park, that is.
