The NYPD is searching for a stylish-looking man they say punched a 68-year-old stranger on a Manhattan subway train on Friday afternoon.

Fortunately for police, there are clear, mask-free surveillance images of the suspect, in which he appears to smile for the cameras and his would-be captors.

The suspect — clad in a fedora, leather jacket and bright pink hoodie — approached the victim on a northbound 1 train inside the Franklin and Varick Street Subway Station shortly after 2:30 p.m., police said.

The pugilistic perpetrator struck the stranger in the head with his closed fist, then fled, cops said.

The victim suffered head injures and was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition, according to officials.

It was unclear what provoked the attack.
