State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman on Thursday cleared an NYPD sergeant in the 2016 stun-gun death of a Bronx man.

Schneiderman’s office investigated the death after a 2015 executive order by Gov. Cuomo tasked the attorney general with reviewing cases in which unarmed civilians are killed by police.

Ariel Galarza, 49, was shocked with a Taser twice after allegedly charging at cops with a 12-ounce bottle of hot sauce in Pelham Bay in November 2016.

The cops were responding to a call of an emotionally disturbed man armed with a knife.

Sgt. William Melrose deployed the Taser to subdue Galarza and delivered a second shock after Melrose resisted arrest, the AG’s report said. Galarza went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The medical examiner found the death was caused by factors including a heart condition, drug intoxication, obesity and the Taser.

Schneiderman said criminal charges weren’t warranted “in light of all the evidence.”
