He’s there to protect and serve — not advertise a web site, claims an NYPD sergeant suing because his picture is being used in an online ad.

David Bases claims addressreport.com is invading his privacy by using an image of him on duty in Times Square in one of their ads, according to a lawsuit.

“Unfortunately, in today’s society … members of the NYPD are frequently exposed to threats and violence from the public,” Bases said in the Manhattan Supreme Court claim against the site, noting he’s had “to become extremely cautious of his own safety as well as his privacy.”

His name and badge number are visible in the image, charges Bases, who wants the picture taken down along with $250,000 damages. The web site generates reports on properties.
