Our thoughts & prayers are w/ those affected by the horrific event in El Paso, TX
While there is no specific/credible threats to #NYC, @NYPDCT has additional deployments out of an abundance of caution
Please don’t be alarmed if you see extra police presence.#SharedResponsibilitypic.twitter.com/b1MALNlw0H— NYPDCounterterrorism (@NYPDCT) August 3, 2019
The NYPD is stepping up its police presence in the city Sunday in the wake of the “horrific” mass shooting in El Paso where a 21-year-old opened fire in a Walmart, killing at least 20 people and injuring dozens more.
The department’s counter-terrorism unit reassured residents Saturday night that there are no specific or credible threats to the Big Apple, but not to be surprised by the extra cops.
Crusius — a supporter of alt-right and President Trump, according to social media accounts — penned a manifesto and posted it online, saying ” this attack is in response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas.”
