An NYPD traffic enforcement agent was arrested in Manhattan for duping a Colorado woman into forking over nearly $40,000 in exchange for a job opportunity, police said Friday.
Johnny Phuong — who worked in the Tow Pound Unit — allegedly promised he’d give the woman a job or set up a business for her for $38,000. She complied but contacted cops when he asked for another $5,000.
Police set up a sting in Kips Bay for him.
Phuong was charged with grand larceny and is awaiting his arraignment at Manhattan Criminal Court.
