The NYPD’s former head of training, who failed his way out of the job after just two months with goofy ideas such as having cops pop a breath mint to quell their anger, has retired from the force.

Michael Julian, 66, named a deputy commissioner of personnel after his comical stint in charge of training, called it a career last week.
