A former NYU Chemistry Department administrator pleaded guilty yesterday to pocketing some $400,000 in a bizarre phony-invoice scheme.
John Runowicz admitted he gave the bursars office stacks of cash-register receipts he’d fished out of a liquor store’s trash.
The bursar never looked at the receipts — which bore the words “Warehouse Wines, 735 Broadway” printed on top.
