An 18-year-old NYU student hung himself with an electrical cord in his dorm room Sunday morning, according to police sources.

The college student was found by authorities at about 2:30 a.m. in his room on 5th Avenue, between 10th and 11th streets, the sources said. He had suffered from depression, according to the sources.

The identity of the student was not known.

Calls to the university were not immediately returned.
