President Barack Obama is slated to hit Manhattan for a high-dollar cash bash aimed at padding the Democratic National Committee’s coffers later this month, sources said yesterday.
Sources familiar with the planning said the president will be at a dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Columbus Circle on Oct. 20 – for a whopping $30,400 per couple.
That amount is the limit for individuals to give the DNC.
The event also puts Obama in the Big Apple in the closing days of Democratic City Comptroller William Thompson’s battle against Mayor Bloomberg as he seeks re-election.
Obama has declined so far to wade into that race.
