An off-duty cop accidentally shot himself in the hand while unloading his gun in Queens early Saturday, police sources said.

The officer discharged his firearm in a car near 23rd Avenue and Steinway Street in Astoria at about 1 a.m., sources said.

It’s believed he was alone in the vehicle at the time.

The cop called 911. Police then responded to the ­apparent mishap.

The officer was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with ­minor injuries.

The incident is under ­investigation. Police didn’t release the officer’s name.
