An off-duty NYPD cop was pummeled by a stranger in a broad-daylight Midtown attack Sunday, authorities said.

The male officer was sitting in his personal car at Broadway and West 33rd Street around 2 p.m. when the suspect approached, hit his vehicle and then punched him multiple times in the face, police said.

The assailant needed to be tased before cops were able to cuff him, authorities said.

The officer was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital with facial injuries, cops said.

The attacker was treated at Bellevue Hospital and charges are pending against him, police said.

The motive for the assault remained unclear Monday morning.

The incident comes a day after an on-duty NYPD traffic enforcement agent was assaulted in the East Village, police said.

The agent was “in the performance of duty” on East 3rd Street near Avenue C in the East Village around 8:15 a.m. Saturday when two people started yelling at him, cops said.

One of the suspects spat at him, started throwing garbage at him and shoved him through a closed door — while the other person flashed a knife, police said.

The duo fled east on East 3rd Street, and the NYPD released a photo of them Sunday night as it attempts to track them down.

Police did not have any further details on why the suspects allegedly targeted the agent.

The agent did not report any physical injuries.
