An off-duty NYPD inspector was killed when he was struck by a dump truck while riding his motorcycle in the Bronx early Monday morning, according to police sources.
The brass was cruising south on East Tremont Avenue around 8 a.m. when he was hit by the truck, which was turning left on Waterbury Avenue, sources said.
His yellow-and-black ride was seen laying on its side in the intersection after the crash, fragments of debris scattered around it.
The cop was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition, but could not be saved.
His name is being withheld as authorities work to notify relatives of his death.
