An off-duty NYPD school safety agent was arrested after a suspected domestic assault, police said Wednesday.

Joel Benjamin, 38, was arrested in Bedford-Stuyvesant at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after allegations of abuse were reported by his wife, according to police.

His wife suffered scratches to her chest and bruising to her buttocks, police sources said.

Police did not say exactly where he was arrested.

Benjamin was charged with assault and has been suspended without pay.
