The contractors that hired the undocumented worker who murdered actress Adrienne Shelly in her West Village apartment can’t be held responsible for her death, an appeals court ruled yesterday.

Bradford General Contractors didn’t know Diego Pillco had “violent propensities,” the state Appellate Division ruled. Pillco killed Shelly in 2006. He’s serving a 25-year sentence.
