Former officer Charlie Murello has been coming to work every day to the 90th Precinct — even though he’s been retired for decades!

This month, the 90th Precinct honored the 91-year-old Murello in a surprise ceremony at its community council meeting’s holiday party, marking his 30 years of service to Williamsburg.

“He’s here every day looking out for the guys,” said crime prevention officer Thomas Brown. “When he comes in, he makes sure the guys are eating well. If somebody is getting married, he helps notarize their paperwork.”

Murello served in World War II and joined the NYPD after the war. He later was promoted to detective, joined the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association and worked as a community affairs officer at the Union Avenue stationhouse, where he still has a desk.

Every Tuesday morning, when this reporter visits the precincthouse on his appointed rounds, Murello greets him with a big smile and a “Hey! How ya doin’!”
