A female court officer was injured Friday during a scuffle with another woman who had a case at a Staten Island courthouse, police sources said.

The altercation took place inside of Richmond County Supreme Court on Hyatt Street near Central Avenue at around 11:30 a.m., sources said.

The officer hit her head during the fight and was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The circumstances that led to the altercation were not immediately clear.
