A decommissioned Staten Island Ferry docked 60 miles north of New York City on the Hudson River is tilting sharply after springing a leak.
The U.S. Coast Guard tells the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that The Herbert H. Lehman, which was decommissioned in 2007, apparently sprung a leak Friday while docked in Newburgh. It is resting on the river bottom in shallow water.
The Coast Guard says the ship represents no danger to the river.
An environmental company and a salvage crew have been on the scene.
