Old SI railway back on track
Staten Island could have a “new” rail line in its future.
The MTA is looking into running trains along the borough’s North Shore again, officials said yesterday.
A study looking at costs and ridership is under way to determine the best option for the stretch of abandoned Staten Island Railway tracks, which ended passenger service in 1953.
A public hearing will be held Thursday at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center.
