An NYPD officer suffered a leg injury after getting run over by a suspect’s car in Brooklyn; the suspect was apprehended a half-hour later after fleeing on foot.
The cop, whose identity was not released by a police spokewoman Saturday night, was hit near Bedford Avenue and Rutland Road in Prospect Lefferts Gardens at about 11:30 p.m. by a man driving a silver Audi sedan, cops said.
It’s unclear what preceded the crash, but after allegedly running the cop over, the suspect crashed his car into a parked vehicle and fled on foot, according to police and photos from the scene.
The officer was taken to King County Hospital, authorities said.
The suspect was apprehended a short time later. No charges were filed as of early Sunday, police said.
