A construction worker died and another was severely injured when a wall collapsed over them in Queens, authorities said.

The two men – a 50-year-old and a 44-year-old – were working on demolishing the second floor of a three-story building at 147-05 94th Ave. near Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica when a wall collapsed and covered them in debris at around 11:45 a.m.

Firefighters responded to the scene and declared the 50-year-old dead, and rushed the 44-year-old worker to Jamaica Hospital in serious condition.

DOB engineers and inspectors were on-site investigating what caused the collapse.

“Any loss of life on a construction site is a tragedy, and our engineers and inspectors are already on site conducting a thorough investigation,” Department of Buildings Commissioner Melanie La Rocca said.

“We want to assure the families of the victims that we will hold all responsible parties accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

A stop-work order was issued Thursday afternoon, according to a DOB spokesperson.
