One person died in a three-alarm Bronx blaze Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The fire broke out just before 12:30 p.m. on the fourth floor at 64 W. 165th St., according to fire officials.
More than 100 firefighters got the inferno under control within an hour, official said.
The fatal victim was found on the fifth floor, said FDNY Deputy Assistant Chief John Sarrocco at the scene.
“We believe it originated on the fourth floor and extended up to the fifth floor through the pipe recesses,” Sarrocco added.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Six firefighters were treated at a hospital for minor injuries, according to the FDNY.
