A late afternoon blaze in an Upper West Side apartment building claimed one life, fire officials said today.
The fire, which broke out in a third floor apartment at 250 West 104th Street, was reported at 5:45 p.m.
One person was found dead on the third floor, said fire officials. No other details about the victim were immediately available.
Sixty firefighters battled the blaze and brought it under control at 6:20 p.m.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
