One person was injured Thursday night in an elevator fire at the luxury Lotte New York Palace hotel in Midtown, cops said.

The fire started in an elevator shaft in the hotel on Madison Avenue at 50th Street at around 9 p.m. and was extinguished shortly afterward, according to police.

One person suffered smoke inhalation but was not transported to a hospital. The cause of the fire was not known.
