Police intercepted a CARE package filled with 38 pounds of marijuana from a Morgan Avenue warehouse this morning.

The box was shipped from an out-of-state address and was en route to an address on the Bowery in Manhattan when Fed Ex employees noticed that it was emitting a familiar smell reminiscent of a college dormitory.

They turned the box over to the 90th Precinct narcotics team, which is investigating the location near Ingraham Street — and the folks who mailed the stash.

“This is a huge find,” said Deputy Inspector Michael Kemper, the precinct’s commanding officer. “The box was from somewhere in California, but [finding the perps] is not as easy as you’d think. We’ve got to track down everyone involved.”
