An angry New Jersey woman climbed into an Optimum cable truck and cut the power to its cherry picker — leaving a worker stranded aloft in the bucket, cops said.

Elena Gerlihman hopped into the service truck parked outside her Ridgewood home Monday, shut down the boom lift and ran off with “utility property,” according to police Capt. William Amoruso.

The female worker managed to get back down at East Ridgewood and South Pleasant avenues after about five to 10 minutes, although it wasn’t immediately clear how.

Cops caught up with Gerlihman and slapped her with a summons for charges including harassment and false imprisonment. Optimum said the 59-year-old Gerlihman isn’t a customer, leaving a motive for the bizarre incident up in the air.

Gerlihman threw a handful of mail at reporters who approached her Thursday but later calmed down enough to admit arguing with the worker because the truck had driven up onto her lawn sprinklers.

“All four wheels on my sprinklers and grass . . . And she broke them like this,” she said, snapping her fingers.

But she maintained that she never left the worker high and dry.

“She was down [on ground level],” Gerlihman insisted. “I don’t know why she made it up that she was up.”

The owner of a deli across the street had another theory.

“She gets upset when the commercial vehicles leave the cars running because she says the exhaust kills the trees,” said Rene Mendoza, 42, claiming that Gerlihman yanked the keys out of an idling ice-cream delivery truck two years ago.

Optimum spokeswoman Lisa Anselmo said, “Our employees work very hard to provide our customers with the best service, and it is incredibly unfortunate that an individual would try to harm one of our employees while on the job.”
