His swan song is sounding a lot like “I Got Plenty of Nothing.”
Creepy Oscar-winning composer of “You Light Up My Life” Joseph Brooks — who killed himself while awaiting trial on rape charges — may get the last laugh on two victims who filed suit over his spree of casting-couch sex attacks.
Court papers filed yesterday say that the “preliminary executor” of Brooks’ estate “has reported that the estate may be insolvent.”
“Naturally, my clients will need to know the status of the estate based on an accounting that will be undertaken over the next few months in the New York County Surrogate’s Court,” wrote the women’s lawyer, David Bowman.
“Whether the estate has the ability to pay future judgment creditors is the essential concern.”
A judge agreed to adjourn both cases for 90 days.
