Nearly three months after OTB was shut down, the city is still paying $500,000 a month for former employee health benefits because of a temporary restraining order issued in a lawsuit filed by the workers’ union, the city’s top lawyer said yesterday
With the next court hearing set for June — and no limit on how long a temporary restraining order can remain in effect in New York state — the city will have to shell out at least $3 million more in benefits, Corporation Counsel Michael Cardozo said.
