The family of an elderly man crushed to death when a livery can careered into a Bronx bus stop was outraged yesterday that the van driver who set off the gruesome chain of events with an illegal U-turn was slapped with only a summons.
Marcelino Adraneda, 76, a Filipino immigrant and retired textile-firm owner, died Tuesday morning after a Lincoln Town Car collided with the minivan and mowed him down on West Kingsbridge Road, police said.
Six other pedestrians were injured.
“We would like to see some charges against the driver,” said Adraneda’s daughter, Ofelia Bernardo.
Bernardo’s son, Cris, 23, said the minivan driver, Rudolph Belle, appeared to show no remorse.
“We didn’t even hear him say that he was sorry,” he said.
