The Queens super hoarder really did have treasure stashed in her mountains of trash!
The ex-beau of Carmine Bhimull, who had mounds of garbage stacked two stories tall outside her South Jamaica home, says he found cash wrapped in a comforter in a bedroom during the massive cleanup effort.
But when Mahinda Ramlal put the dough aside, intending to count it later on, someone removed it, he charged.
A bucket of coins found in the hoarder house.Brigitte Stelzer Bhimull had told friends she kept $10,000 in cash and $30,000 in jewelry in the house, which is owned by Ramlal and had racked up $343,000 in unpaid fines since 2015.
“I was cleaning the bedroom when I found a comforter rolled up in a corner,” Ramlal said Saturday.
“I opened it up and found money hidden in it. They were loose bills — compressed, they weren’t bundled up. I put the comforter in a black garbage and went back to cleaning.”
City workers later removed the money without telling Ramlal, and eventually handed it to Bhimull’s guardian, he claims.
Workers told Ramlal they recovered $6,200 in American cash and $1,658 in Canadian currency.
Ramlal, also claims he found $500 on the bedroom floor Saturday, has said he never had the heart to boot Bhimull from the home.
Bhimull once owned a Queens laundromat, but lost the business.
