The deep freeze gripping much of the Northeast and Midwest was child’s play for the hardy sled crowd at Owl’s Head Park, where three snowstorms in as many weeks left thrilled flake frolickers slipping and sliding in an arctic wonderland.
Bay Ridge buddies Andrew Udov, 7, and 10-year-old Daniel Hanin squealed with delight as the pair whooshed down a snow-covered slope on a shared sled.
Not to be outdone, Steven Diaz and his 8-year-old Justin Lepe showed some moxie of their own by deftly navigating an icy mound before careening downhill.
As dusk stole the sun from the sky, and the snow-tastic floodlights illuminated the white carpet, Brooklynites proved that they were a perfect match for the dipping temperatures — responsible for some of the coldest air to hit these parts in two years.
