Three Port Authority cops assigned to the Holland Tunnel have been suspended for fudging truck inspections, sources said.
The cops, whose duties involve inspecting bills of lading from truckers and examining their vehicles for possible road violations, were suspended Monday by the PA’s Internal Affairs Bureau.
The three were suspended “administratively” and will be paid while the probe continues.
A source said they were suspected of filing bogus paperwork indicating they had conducted truck inspections that had never actually taken place. Their alleged motive was to show they’d been more productive than they actually were.
