Two muggers are wanted for an attempted knife-point robbery inside Morningside Park and another successful theft from a delivery man on the outskirts of the park on the same day earlier this month, police said.

One of the suspects began the robbery spree when he approached a man inside a dog park in Morningside Park at about 4:40 p.m. on Dec. 2 and tried to open a folding knife, cops said.

The would-be victim, a 25-year-old man, punched the thief in the face during the attempted mugging and ran off into the park, cops said. He fell down a staircase while making his getaway and later went to a nearby hospital to get treated for minor injuries.

The robber ran off, but struck again within an hour with an accomplice, cops said.

He and another suspect ran up to a deliveryman on West 118th — less than a block from the park — about 35 minutes later and pretended they were armed with handguns, cops said.

The suspects stole $60, a cellphone and the victim’s scooter before running off, authorities said.

Police do not believe the robberies are connected to the stabbing death of Barnard College student Tessa Majors, who was slain by a group of knife-wielding young robbers last Wednesday.

One of the suspects in that case, a 13-year-old, has been charged with her murder.
