Port Authority police busted a Queens couple for allegedly swiping two designer handbags worth more than $40,000 from the luggage of a wealthy Saudi woman.
The victim had landed at JFK from London via British Airways in June, only to find her luggage missing.
The airline quickly hired a Long Island City-based delivery service, Luggage Logistics, to return the luggage to the woman, but the pricey purses inside — a $16,995 Chanel bag and a $26,995 Hermes bag — had vanished, officials said.
Detectives found the bags on eBay, and pressed grand larceny charges against Luggage Logistics employees Elepcia Barrientos, 39, and Lenny Hernandez, 42, of Jamaica, Queens.
