The chilling video of survivors hiding in a Paris cafe while a gun-toting jihadist hunts for victims highlights the value of text-to-911 technology during a potential New York City terror attack, says a City Council member.

“Being able to text police and say, ‘I’m hidden in a certain cafe . . . please send help,’ without alerting the terrorist to their location could save their life,” said Councilman Mark Levine (D-Manhattan).

Levine co-sponsored a bill in August to implement an updated 911 system that would allow people to send text messages to emergency responders.
