Park Slope hip-hop truce
Park Slope party poopers have backed off their opposition to a new club in their neighborhood after owners reached an agreement with them on the music and the crowds they’ll draw.
Hip-hop will still be in the lineup at the new Prime 6, but not for live performances, said Harry Lipman, a lawyer representing 40 residents who collected 300 petition signatures opposing the club.
Only acoustic music will be played at live performances, Lipman said after a community board meeting yesterday. The two sides also agreed to limit the number of people in the club’s back yard.
No music will be played in the back yard of the Brooklyn club when it opens on Flatbush Avenue at Sixth Avenue.
“We don’t want to rename Sixth Avenue Bourbon Street,” Lipman said.
