An ex-con Parks Department supervisor accused of sexually abusing underlings has been benched as the city investigates.
Michael Palamar is being probed following a Post report on a lawsuit filed by a city Parks worker, who claimed the supervisor with the hefty salary groped her and repeatedly had sex with young, vulnerable temp workers.
Palamar, who earned more than $105,000 last year, has been placed in a “non-supervisory role” as the city looks into the allegations against him, a Parks Department spokeswoman said.
“The role is designed so that Mr. Palamar is not required to supervise or work with Parks’ seasonal workers,” she added.
The Manhattan federal court filing claims co-workers call Palamar a “pedophile” for allegedly pressuring young female trainees into sex acts.
Palamar, 53, served two stints in prison — including for fatally bashing an elderly neighbor to death with a baseball bat — before being hired by the Parks Department in 2006.
He was also arrested in 2009 for groping a woman who was performing community service for the Parks Department under his supervision.
