Fourteen Queens stores will be demolished after the five-alarm fire that ripped through a block of businesses, officials said Saturday.
Authorities are still investigating what sparked Friday’s blaze on Vleigh Place in Kew Gardens Hills, where it took 175 firefighters several hours to get the fire under control.
“This is not going to be a good new year for me,” said Mike Hong, owner of the destroyed Paragon Cleaners.
“I saw my store burning up . . . with my own eyes,” said Jack Patel, owner of Jay Ambe Convenience Store. “It’s like part of my life is gone.”
