Does the road to the White House run through Peekskill?

Former governor George Pataki yesterday said he’ll run for President if he thinks none of his fellow Republicans are able to “bring people together.”

Pataki, who was governor for 12 years and considered a presidential bid in 2008, told ABC News that his previous experience as mayor of Peekskill makes him a strong candidate in 2012.

“It was a challenging job, let me assure you,” he said. “Twice the size of Wasilla,” he quipped, taking a shot at former Sarah Palin, a potential rival for the nomination. But he said he would support her if she won the GOP nomination.
