After flirting with a run for president, former Gov. George Pataki has thrown in the towel.

Pataki announced yesterday that he won’t compete in the field of GOP candidates hoping to unseat President Obama next year.

And he canceled a trip to Iowa set for today that had been seen as an indication he might jump into the race.
